This piece was inspired by a photo I took while boating on the lake at our summer cottage. It captures a break in the shoreline where there is a dense row of evergreen leading the eye to another line of trees in the distance.  

At the centre, a vibrant cluster of bright green trees creates a focal point that stands out against the cooler tones around it. The water mirrors these colours with textured brushstrokes that bring movement and nuance to the scene. Through bold colour contrasts and simplified shapes, I aimed to convey a quiet yet dynamic moment in nature—one that invites contemplation and presence.
