Spring or Not?

Spring or Not?

Is March 1 the first day of Spring or is it the equinox on March 21? This is an ongoing and contentious debate is our home.  I vote for the meteorological first day of Spring on March 1, but my husband sticks with March 21.

I’m more than ready for Spring by the beginning of March. The days are getting longer, the sun is warmer and our house plants start growing again.  They know, right? The only off putting thing is the snow on the ground, but who cares? It will be gone soon.

Painting Outside Again

One big change for me at this time year is that I start to think about painting outside or at least getting my inspiration from nature outside my house.  I also anticipate cottage season and travelling to the lake to paint, but I’m getting ahead of myself.

Speaking of the lake here’s a watercolour painting I did last spring of the view from my cottage guerrilla studio. It’s called ‘Spring Across the Meadow’

Halfway Through First Set of Paintings for Series

March 1 also signals that I’m halfway through the first part of my Connectivity series. For now, the focus is still on my inside plants and in my recent YouTube video I assess whether I’m on track. In addition as I was filming I noticed an emerging problem.

Check it out in the video. To see it simply click on the photo below.

I also feature five paintings, which you can see on my website in the Recent Paintings Collection.

If you’re reading this from the Southern Hemisphere let me know if you mark seasonal changes in March.

Happy Spring Everyone,
