So Many Changes: Time to Focus
What’s Changing?
I like to keep up with trends, mostly in social media and art and if I hear the trend watchers correctly 2025 is going to range from yikes to OMG!
AI is driving changes in art creation, the art market and in social media as well as many other areas. For me, the most worrying part of all this is that it will change the way I interact with art enthusiasts and my online community.
My Response
Mostly, I want to run and hide, but since I’m too old for that I’ve decided to do what I know and that is focus on creating some art to share with you. I intend to do it the same way I’ve always done it. I’m not ready to incorporate AI into my creative process.
In 2025 I’m going to focus-in more though. I’m going to look for inspiration in the nooks and crannies of my day-to-day life, my home, my garden, my neighbourhood and at my lake cottage. Even there the landscapes I paint will be of the particular, up close and personal, not distant vistas. I’m looking for close connections.
There’s an artist’s caveat, though. I’ve found that even though I may start with certain intentions the creative process may take me in another. All this to say, I may veer off the creative track.
